Welcome to Tri’umphant Word Ministries! COGIC

Tri’umphant Word Ministries Inc is a member of the Churches of God in Christ under the Northern Georgia Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. The Jurisdictional Prelate of our Jurisdiction is Bishop Mark Walden.

Before the name Tri’umphant Word Ministries was adopted, our name was Sims Street Church of God in Christ and the church was located at 910 Sims Street. The pastor of that church was Superintendent Horace Dukes Sr., who served as our leader for 36 years until God called him home in 2002. He will forever be in our memory for his tireless leadership and magnanimous service.

In early 2003 Pastor Horace Dukes Jr. began the search for another church name. The need for a new name was two-fold. First, our pastor envisioned God leading us to another facility and the existing name was not portable. Secondly, we desired a name that would embody the core principals of our faith. The name Tri’umphant Word Ministries was most appropriate because it emphasizes the Trinity or Three-fold Word--the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Tri’umphant Word Ministries was incorporated in July 2003 and we moved to our current facility on Church Street in November 2007.

Mission Statement

The mission of the church is to provide its membership, the unchurched, and the community at large with knowledge on how to have a personal relationship with Christ and to enlighten them on how they can gain access to the promises contained within the Word of God.

Vision Statement

In winning souls for Christ we understand that we must first address social and primal needs. To the extent of our capacity, we will enact programs that minister to these needs. The church will supplement these needs with spiritual enrichment, thus taking a holistic approach in preparing individuals to receive Christ.
